WILSON LAWRENCE “DIGGER” TOOTHMAN

WILSON LAWRENCE “DIGGER” TOOTHMAN of St. Clairsville, OH died September 9, 2026 at the age of 76. A retired funeral director and embalmer, he worked at Toothman Funeral Home from 1964 until 2004 and served as president from 1980 until 2012. Digger completed his apprenticeship under the guidance of his father, Bill Toothman. A graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Ohio Embalmers Association and the Belmont County Funeral Directors Association. Digger served as president of District 12 of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and spent four years on its board of directors, including service on the Master Trust and Health Insurance Committees.
