WILLIAM H. "BILL" FORD

WILLIAM H. "BILL" FORD, SR of Englewood, FL and formerly of Fairmont, WV died March 16, 2016 at the age of 92. In 1952, he and his brother, Joseph, established Ford Funeral Home in Fairmont. They later purchased R. C. Jones Funeral Home in 1966, DeGarmo Funeral Home in 1982 and Allen Funeral Home in 1999. He worked at various levels in funeral service within the West Virginia Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association, including 22 years as executive director for the American Board of Funeral Service Education and past president of the WVFDA. He later served as member of the board of directors for the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He graduated from the Cleveland College of Mortuary Science in 1949.
