WILLIAM L. "BILL" DANKS

WILLIAM L. "BILL" DANKS of Beaver Dam, KY died September 13, 2018 at the age of 89. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, he began working part-time at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg, Reid Funeral Home in Earlington, Richardson Funeral Home in Russellville, Bryn Funeral Home in Mayfield and Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. In 1959, William went to work at Casebier Funeral Home in Beaver Dam and continued to work there until 1966, at which time, he and his wife, Ima, purchased the business and established William L. Danks Funeral Home. A 1950 graduate of the Kentucky School of Embalming, he served 26 years on the board of directors for the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, where he served as president from 1974-1975 and was past present of the Southern District. He also served as vice chairman for 13 years on the Kentucky State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors.
