WILLIAM ANTHONY “BILL” BARCHEERS

WILLIAM ANTHONY “BILL” BARCHEERS of Hemphill, TX died May 28, 2023 at the age of 72. A licensed funeral director and embalmer for over fifty years, he worked at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill for several years before joining Martin Funeral Home in El Paso. In the late 1970’s, he moved to San Augustine to become director in charge of San Augustine Funeral Home. After leaving the funeral industry in 1982, Bill later returned to work with Starr Funeral Home. He served as director in charge of Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana and Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper. In 2017, Bill once again joined Starr Funeral Home and remained there until his retirement. He graduated from the Commonwealth Institute of Mortuary Science.
