VIRGINIA L. "GINNY" HERRING MAHAN

VIRGINIA L. "GINNY" HERRING MAHAN of Walla Walla, WA died April 16, 2021 at the age of 87. In the late 1940's, her father, the late Norman S. Herring, assumed ownership of the Marshall, Calloway and Hennessey Funeral Home and renamed it Herring Funeral Home. A second-generation funeral director since 1973, Mahan became president of the firm after the death of her father in 1974 and mother, Bethene, in 1985. Her two sons, Jeffrey and Matthew Mahan are actively involved in the "day to day" operation of the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home. Mahan is a past president of the Washington State Funeral Directors Association, the first woman to hold this chair, and past president of the Blue Mountain Funeral Directors District #6.
