VANDERLYN R. PINE

DR. VANDERLYN R. PINE, a lifelong resident of New Paltz, NY died November 9, 2021 at the age of 83. Upon his father's death in 1957, Pine left Dartmouth College to help operate Pine Funeral Home. In 1970 he formed Research and Analysis Associates to carry out his appointment as management consultant for NFDA. A college professor at SUNY, Dr. Pine published articles and books, as well as presented seminars, on the sociology of death, grief and bereavement issues, disaster preparedness, funeral home evaluation and financial management. This led to the development of Vanderlyn R. Pine Associates, which later became American Funeral Consultants, offering formal appraisal and succession services exclusively within funeral service.
