STEVE SCHACHT

STEVE SCHACHT of Anaheim, CA died December 28, 2025 at the age of 81. A funeral director and embalmer for 63 years, he worked for Hilgenfeld Mortuary prior to his partnership with Don Baggott in what would become Baggott and Schact Mortuary and later part of the SCI family. Through his work in governmental affairs, Schacht helped shape laws and regulations within the funeral profession with the goal of better serving families and ensuring compassionate, ethical care. A mentor to funeral directors and staff, he was a member of the California Funeral Directors Association.
