STEPHEN C BURKE

STEPHEN C. BURKE of Lewistown, PA died January 15, 2021 at the age of 70. He was a funeral director at Baumeister-Orcutt Funeral Home, York, PA for seven years before leaving the funeral business in 1979. In 1990, at the urging of Charlie Hershberger, Burke returned to the funeral business with Hoen-stine Funeral Home, Inc, becoming a partner in 1992 of Hoenstine and Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc. He and his wife, Dorothy purchased the companies in 2002. Burke retired in 2011, handing the companies over to his son, Geoffrey. He graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1971.
