Samuel Whitelock Purviance

SAMUEL WHITELOCK PURVIANCE of Wake-field, VA died February 20, 2016 at the age of 94. He was a licensed funeral director, who owned and operated Purviance Funeral Home alongside his wife, Hilda for nearly 50 years. He also operated funeral homes in Boykins and Jarrett, VA. A 1942 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he was a former president of the Tidewater Funeral Directors Association.
