ROY ALFRED GOODSON

ROY ALFRED GOODSON of Anniston, AL died October 25, 2025 at the age of 70. A licensed Alabama funeral director and embalmer for over 30 years, he had worked for Lucius Funeral Home prior to operating and managing the Williams Funeral Home. After opening his first funeral home, Model City Mortuary, he partnered with Otis Adams to establish the Adams and Goodson Funeral Home. Following its closure, Goodson began working as the chief embalmer at Smith and Gadsen Funeral Home in Birmingham and later established the Goodson Funeral Home in Anniston, where he continued to own and operate it until his retirement in 2024. Goodson served as the sergeant-at-arms, past president and member of the Alabama Funeral Directors & Morticians Association, Inc.
