ROBERT F. “BOB” VANDENBERGH

ROBERT F. “BOB” VANDENBERGH of Rochester, MI died May 26, 2026 at the age of 78. A licensed funeral director since 1969, he became a partner and later served as president and CEO of Fred H. Kaul Funeral Homes, Inc., which operated locations in Roseville, Clinton Township, and St. Clair Shores. Bob earned a degree in mortuary science from Wayne State University and had served on its advisory committee. He also served on the Board of Trustees of the American Board of Funeral Service Education and was an ambassador for the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. He earned the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner and later became a member of the Service Corporation International Former Owners Council. His leadership extended to both the state and national levels, where he held every elected office within the Michigan Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association, including service as president of each organization.
