ROBERT ALEXANDER “BOB” MCCONNEGHY, III

ROBERT ALEXANDER “BOB” MCCONNEGHY, III of Rancho Mirage, CA died September 7, 2025 at the age of 73. A third generation cemeterian, he began working at Sunset Memorial Park and Crown Hill Cemetery as a sales and marketing director and eventually became vice president. In 1986, Bob was recruited to run pre-need sales at 15 catholic cemeteries for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for 28 years. A member and past president of the Ohio Association of Cemeteries, he was actively involved in the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association and at the time, was the youngest member elected to serve on its board. Bob also served on the faculty at numerous conventions and sales management schools, including ICCFA University and had been a keynote speaker at hundreds of conferences. In 2014, he suffered a fall that resulted in a permanent disability and forced retirement.
