ROBERT EUGENE “BOB” GOMPF

ROBERT EUGENE “BOB” GOMPF of Cardington, OH died May 13, 2025 at the age of 99. A licensed funeral director since 1949, he began his career with Shaw-Davis Funeral Home in Columbus and later spent 36 years with the Curl Funeral Home, which was destroyed by a tornado in 1981. In response, Bob and his wife, Donna June, opened Gompf Funeral Service on Main Street. They later undertook the project of building a new facility, which is still in operation. A graduate of the Cleveland College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association.
