RICHARD J. CODEY

RICHARD J. CODEY of Roseland, NJ died January 11, 2026 at the age of 79. A third-generation funeral director, he was the owner and operator of Codey & Mackey Funeral Home in Boonton. His family proudly owned and operated the Codey Funeral Home in Orange for more than 100 years. In 2013, Codey purchased the Mackey Funeral Home, and the two establishments were subsequently merged to form Codey & Mackey Funeral Home. Codey served as the 53rd Governor for the state of New Jersey. After serving more than five decades he retired from the state legislature in 2024.
