MYRTLE GREEN THATCHER

MYRTLE GREEN THATCHER of Kansas City, KS died May 7, 2012 at the age of 102. In 1980, after the death of her husband, Nathan Thatcher, Jr, Mrs. Thatcher obtained ownership of Thatcher's Funeral Home; the oldest African-American family owned funeral home in the state of Kansas. It was at that time that her daughter, Quintelle, was elected general manager of the firm. She was a licensed funeral director for more than 50 years. She was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Missouri-Kansas Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, and the Kansas Funeral Directors Association.
