MICHAEL R. ST. PIERRE

MICHAEL R. ST. PIERRE of Greenwood, IL died December 6, 2018 at the age of 71. Licensed in the state of Indiana and Tennessee, he retired as chairman of the board of Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory in 2016, which he operated as a fifth generation funeral director and a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner. St. Pierre graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science. He graduated from the National Foundation of Funeral Service School of Management, serving as president of the alumni association in 1977. He served as president of the Associated Funeral Directors International in 1980, president of the National Selected Morticians (now Selected Independent Funeral Homes) from 1991-1992, president of the National Funeral Directors Association from 2007-2008, was a life member of the Academy of Funeral Service Practitioners, and served as a representative to the American Board of Funeral Service Education for nine years. St. Pierre was proud to be involved in the creation of the National Research and Information Center that was associated with the National Foundation of Funeral Service, which he served as chairman of the board of trustees from 1995-1996. He was the only living president of five national associations in his profession.
