MICHAEL B. HAKEMAN

MICHAEL B. HAKEMAN of Fairview Park, OH died August 23, 2023 at the age of 61. He began his career in the funeral industry by working at his family’s funeral home. Hakeman then joined the Champion Chemical Company in 1996 and, in a very short period, was recognized as the top sales executive from 1998 until 2000. After joining Federated Funeral Directors in 2004 as a business consultant, he co-founded and served as vice president of the Professional Funeral Alliance of Springfield, IL in 2011. Hakeman spent the final years of his career as the general manager of Schreffler Funeral Homes in Kankakee County. A 1987 graduate of the Worsham College of Mortuary Science, he was the recipient of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association scholarship for academics.
