MERRILL P. WOMACH of Spokane, WA died December 28, 2014 at the age of 87. He was a gospel singer who made headlines during his lifetime, both personally and professionally. He transformed the modern funeral by founding National Music Service, now Global Distribution Network, Inc. Womach survived a fiery plane crash in 1961, which left him with third degree burns to his hands and face. In addition to singing at thousands of funerals, his recordings have been played at countless funerals over the years.
