MAURICE E. “MIKE” NEWNAM III

MAURICE E. “MIKE” NEWNAM III of Easton, MD died October 11, 2022 at the age of 89. A retired funeral director for fifty years, he joined his family’s business, Maurice E. Newnam & Son. Mike took over the ownership in 1970, operating it as Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. During this time, he owned and operated funeral homes in Easton, St. Michaels, Sharptown, Centerville and Queenstown. He was also the owner and operator of Newman Services, Inc., memorial division. In 1996, he was the founding partner in the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., with several locations on the Eastern Shore and Annapolis. A graduate of the Eckels College of Mortuary Science, he served as cemeterian for the Oxford Cemetery, retiring in 2018 after thirty years of service.
