MARGARET MARY ZELLEY SCHMIT

MARGARET MARY ZELLEY SCHMIT of Flint, MI died May 9, 2012 at the age of 94. She and her husband, LeRoy Zelley, started the Zelley Funeral Home and Ambulance Service in 1953. In 1976, after her husband had passed away, she obtained ownership of the firm until it closed in 1989. She graduated from Wayne State University of Mortuary Science in 1967, becoming one of the first licensed female funeral directors in the Flint area.
