L. DAVID McCABE

L. DAVID McCABE of Farmington Hills, MI died Au-gust 1, 2016 at the age of 90. He was the third generation owner of McCabe Funeral Home in Farmington Hills, MI, joining the staff in 1952. A 1956 graduate of Wayne State University, he earned his funeral director's license and worked with his father at McCabe Funeral Home's Detroit location. In 1969, he began moving the funeral home from its previous location in Detroit to Farmington Hills. The Farmington Hills location became the headquarters of the firm, and an additional location was opened in Canton, MI. He was a member of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association, holding key positions on the ethics and legislative committees. In 1964, he served as President of District 1, which encompasses the City of Detroit as well as Wayne County. In 1993, he served as secretary of the MFDA.
