JOSEPH THOMAS “JOE” CLYBURN, SR

JOSEPH THOMAS “JOE” CLYBURN, SR of Statesville, NC died July 13, 2026 at the age of 92. A licensed funeral director since 1972, he served as general manager and co-owner of Clyburn and Bigham Mortuary, Inc in Mooresville, NC and Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary in Statesville, NC. Joe was also a licensed insurance agent since 1990 and a licensed pre-need agent since 1992. A member of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, Inc, he served the Piedmont District Funeral Directors and Morticians Association of North Carolina in several capacities since his membership in 2008 and had received numerous honors, including the Professional of the Year and Man of the Year awards. In 2019, Joe received the Souvenir Journal Dedication from the Funeral Directors and Morticians Association of North Carolina.
