JOSEPH BLAINE SCHAEFFER

JOSEPH BLAINE SCHAEFFER of Petersburg, WV died December 19, 2014 at the age of 96. He and his wife, Kathern established the Schaeffer Funeral Home and Ambulance Service in 1950. He served as a licensed funeral director in the state of Ohio and worked for the Sector Funeral Home in Willard for two years. He was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, West Virginia Funeral Directors Association, district IV. He served three terms on the West Virginia Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, was president for two terms; served three years on the National Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards and received the "Charles E. Dodd Award." He graduated from the Cincinnati College of Embalming in 1948.
