JOSEPH IRA GAINES

JOSEPH IRA GAINES JR of Santa Monica, CA died August 18, 2013 at the age of 78. He established Joseph I. Gaines Mortuary Services and was an autopsy technician at Meadowbrook Hospital. He worked as a funeral director, embalmer and partner at the Richard Haskill Funeral Home in Wyandorch, NY from 1963 until 1970. In 1970, he moved back to Southern California to work at Angelus Funeral Home and several prominent area funeral homes including Harrison, Ross Mortuary, House of Winston Mortuary and Simpson Family Mortuary. He graduated from McAllister School of Mortuary Science in 1961.
