JOHN C "JACK" VANDER PLAAT

JOHN C "JACK" VANDER PLAAT of Wyckoff, NJ died December 18, 2013 at the age of 87. He was a licensed New Jersey funeral director and embalmer. He joined his father, John J. Vander Plaat, in the operation of the Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Garfield which his grandfather established in 1894. In 1952, he and his father opened a second location in Wyckoff. He served as president of the Bergen County Funeral Directors Association, and was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association, the Order of The Golden Rule and he was a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner with the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice
