JOHN A. LINDQUIST

JOHN A. LINDQUIST of Ogden, UT died June 30, 2013 at the age of 94. He took over operation of the family business, Lindquist & Sons Mortuary, after his father died during the great depression. He worked alongside his brothers, Carl and Clyde, initiating the family business during the 40s, beginning with a new mortuary located at 34th Street and Washington in 1941. The expansion of Lindquist Mortuaries and affiliated memorial parks and other businesses continued through the efforts of his sons, Robert, John E. and Steve, as well as Clyde, and his son, Charles. He never retired from the funeral industry, still assisting funerals after partly losing his hearing and vision. He graduated from the San Francisco School of Mortuary Science. He served as president of the National Selected Morticians, which included several European nations, Canada, Mexico and Australia from 1974 until 1975.
