JOHN H. “JACK” HEARD

JOHN H. “JACK” HEARD of Fernandina Beach, FL died June 26, 2026 at the age of 77. A funeral director since 1974, he began his career at Henderson Funeral Home in Moultrie, GA and later worked at Ward’s Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA before purchasing Oxley Mortuary in Fernandina Beach, FL. Jack continued to own and operate Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors until his death. He graduated from Texas College of Mortuary Science at Baylor University in 1969.
