JOHN WILLIAM COKER III

JOHN WILLIAM COKER III of Sanger, TX died June 21, 2019 at the age of 81. A licensed funeral director for over 60 years, he previously worked for Harmon Funeral Home in Floydada and the Schmitz, Floyd, Hamlet Funeral Home in Delores before purchasing the funeral home in 1961, renaming it Coker Funeral Home. A 1957 graduate of the Gupton-Jones School of Mortuary Science, he was past president of the North Texas Funeral Directors Association, was the recipient of the North Texas Funeral Director of the Year Award. He had served on the board of directors for the Texas Funeral Directors Association and the Texas Funeral Services Association.
