JOE L. ALLBRITTON

JOE L. ALLBRITTON of Houston, TX died December 12, 2012 at the age of 87. A civic minded philanthropist, Allbritton was known for his business prowess, investing in real estate, banking and media. In the 1950's he purchased the Pierce Brothers Funeral Homes and Pierce National Life Insurance Company of California. He sold the businesses in the early 90s.
