JAY ARTHUR BECK

JAY ARTHUR BECK of St. Clairsville, OH died May 23, 2026 at the age of 78. A third-generation licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1971, he began helping his father, Arthur, at Beck Funeral Home before serving his apprenticeship and eventually becoming owner. He continued in that role until the funeral home was acquired by Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory in 1993. Beck later served as funeral director, embalmer, and funeral service manager for Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, which became CARE Funeral and Cremation Specialists in 2019. A graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, which honored him in 2021 with its 50-year award in recognition of his dedicated service to the community.
