JAMES RUSSELL RILEY

JAMES RUSSELL RILEY SR of Lansing, MI died June 24, 2016 at the age of 93. He was a licensed funeral director, owner and operator of Riley Funeral Home, which he established alongside his wife, Deresa in 1957. They continued to operate the funeral home until retiring in 1993. In that time, ownership of the firm was relinquished to their son James R. Riley, Jr., who maintains operating it as the oldest black-owned funeral home in Lansing. He graduated from the mortuary science program at Wayne State University.
