JAMES A. MORTON II of Baltimore, MD died May 3, 2016 at the age of 86. He began his career with the William L. Jackson Funeral Home in Baltimore. In 1954, he and his partner, Morton Dyett established the James A. Morton & Sons Funeral Homes Inc, which was the first black-owned funeral home in Baltimore. He later opened a second location in Dundalk and retired in 2012 as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in 1949.
