JAMES B. GAFFNEY

JAMES B. GAFFNEY of Pen Argyl, PA died September 24, 2013 at the age of 68. He was a funeral director and co-owner of James B. Gaffney Funeral Home in Pen Argyl and Bangor. He and his wife, Donna purchased their first funeral home, the former Swoyer Funeral Home in Pen Argyl in 1969. In 1975, they purchased their second funeral home, the former Miller Funeral Home in Bangor. In 1992, they assisted their daughter, Kelly, in purchasing the former Franklin H. Reed Funeral Home in Johnsonville. He was a member and past president of the Eastern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, and a member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. He was also a member of the advisory board of the Funeral Services Education Program at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem.
