IRVING "STET" W. STETSON

IRVING "STET" W. STETSON of Brunswick, ME, died May 6, 2012 at the age of 87. He was a fourth generation funeral director, working alongside his father at Stetson's Funeral Home. He later acquired ownership of the business, along with his wife, Dorothy. In 1991, he sold the firm to Brunswick natives, Anthony and Debbie Purinton, where he maintained a keen interest in the firm until the time of his death. He was a member of the Order of the Golden Rule, National Funeral Directors Association, and life member of the Maine Funeral Directors Association, where he served as past president. He was previously qualified as a mortuary disaster coordinator for NFDA. He graduated from Eckels College of Mortuary Science in Philadelphia.
