HUGH HIRAM PEELER

HUGH HIRAM PEELER of Athens, GA died August 18, 2011 at the age of 90. In 1939, he began working for Bridges Funeral Home on Dougherty Street. In 1965, he purchased the firm after Weaver Bridges died, moving it to 3035 Atlanta Highway. It is the oldest locally owned and operated funeral home in Athens.
