GRANT HOWARD ARMSTRONG

GRANT HOWARD ARMSTRONG JR of Danbury, IA died August 1, 2021 at the age of 67. He began in the funeral industry by living and working at the Hogan-Bremer Funeral Home in Mason City prior to joining the Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home in Chicago. Armstrong was hired as a licensed funeral director at the Walter Funeral Homes in Danbury in 1975, which he resided in. In 1979, he partnered with Irvin H. Walter to form the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home. Armstrong purchased the funeral home in 1991, renaming it Armstrong Funeral Home. He continued to serve the Mapleton, Danbury, Anthon and Ute communities alongside his wife, Cindy until their retirement in 2016. A graduate of the Worsham College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association.
