GLADYS EDWARDS WALLACE

GLADYS EDWARDS WALLACE of Broadview, IL died January 22, 2021 at the age of 84. She co-founded the Wallace Broadview Funeral Home in 1988 and was member of the 100 Black Women of Funeral Service, Illinois Select Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, where she formerly served as president of the National Ladies Auxiliary. She and her late husband, Vernon L. Wallace invited students from the Worsham and Malcolm X College of Funeral Service to serve their internships. Wallace later established the Vernon L. Wallace and Glays E. Wallace Mortuary Scholarships to help students pursuing a degree in mortuary science.
