FRED D. GARRETT

FRED D. GARRETT SR of Greenville, SC died Novem-ber 8, 2018 at the age of 94. In 1958, he was hired as a part-time employee of the Watkins, Arnold and Sheppard Mortuary. Later, he became part-owner/manager and the name was changed to Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary. In 1993, Fred Garrett, Sr., became the sole owner. He was a life member of the National Funeral Directors Association, former president of the South Carolina Morticians Association, and was a 2012 Living Legend of Funeral Service honoree of the 100 Black Women of Funeral Service.
