ESTELLE J. WILSON

ESTELLE J. WILSON of New Orleans, LA died July 10, 2012 at the age of 89. She was a licensed funeral director, founder and president of Estelle J. Wilson Funeral Home Inc, which was established in 1964 as Central City Mortuary. She was the oldest living female funeral director in the city of New Orleans, and last year received the New Orleans Embalmers Association Distinguished Service Award. Estelle was also recognized as a Living Legend by the 100 Black Women of Funeral Service. She was a member of the Crescent City Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association, Louisiana State Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Crescent Funeral Directors Association.
