EDWARD “EDD” A. KUBU

EDWARD “EDD” A. KUBU of Mentor, OH died September 6, 2026 at the age of 82. A licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1968, he worked at Kubu and Son Funeral Home for two years, completing his apprenticeship under the mentorship of his father, Edward J. Kubu, during his tenure at the firm. In 1970, Edd joined University Hospitals of Cleveland, working in the mortician’s office. He remained active in funeral service following his retirement in 2008. A graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, he was member of the Cuyahoga County Funeral Directors Association, Tri-County Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association. Edd served as past president of the Cleveland Embalmers Association and was honored by the OFDA in 2018 for 50 years of licensure.
