DR. JOHN E BECKWITH SR

DR. JOHN E. BECKWITH SR of Dallas, TX died September 5, 2022 at the age of 80. He worked in the funeral industry for over sixty-five years, having served Lone Star Funeral Home and Cedar Crest Funeral Home prior to establishing the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Waxahachie, TX in 1980. A second location in Dallas, TX was opened in 1985, which is the corporate location and a third location in Lancaster, TX in 1999. Beckwith Golden Gate Funeral Home was established in Tallulah, LA in 2001 and is one of the fastest growing African American funeral homes in North Louisiana. In 2012, Beckwith was honored by the Independent Funeral Directors Association of Texas, Inc as the Professional of the Year.
