DAVID HAROLD GIRDNER

DAVID HAROLD GIRDNER of Abilene, TX died October 21, 2024 at the age of 80. A licensed funeral director of almost 60 years, he began his career at Abilene Funeral Home. Later, Girdner provided mortuary transportation services throughout Texas, and converted vehicles to be used in the funeral industry, and as ambulances. He then opened Girdner Funeral Home. His legacy continued with his children, Scott Girdner and Martha Girdner Lee, who own and operate what is now known as Girdner Family Funeral Home. Girdner received degrees from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science, Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service and McMurry College.
