DARRELL “DB” BENNETT

DARRELL “DB” BENNETT of Ocala, FL died October 10, 2024 at the age of 92. A licensed North Carolina, Kentucky and Michigan mortician, he began his career at Allore Funeral Home in Monroe, MI. In 1965, Bennett purchased the Maurice Funeral Home and Ambulance Service alongside his wife, Jean. Together, they operated the Bennett Funeral Home & Ambulance Service in Monroe and Erie, MI for 47 years. A graduate of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science, he was recognized by the Michigan Funeral Directors Association with a Lifetime Service award of 50 years. Having mentored young morticians through their apprenticeships, Bennett encouraged his two younger brothers, Jerry and Ron, to follow in his footsteps as licensed morticians.
