CARLTON RAINGE

CARLTON RAINGE of Blackshear, GA died January 6, 2019 at the age of 67. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, he owned and operated Rainge Memorial Chapel, Inc, which he established in 2005. He served his internship at the McDowell's Funeral Home in Griffin, and later became assistant operations manager. In 1993 he moved to South Georgia to operate a family business and had worked for several funeral homes in Baxley, Blackshear and Waycross. A 1984 graduate of the Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science, he was Mortician of the Year from 2008-2009, a member of the 100 Black Men of South Georgia and is past chairman of the 2nd District Georgia Funeral Service Practitioners Association.
