CAL WILKERSON

d. October 3, 2013

Our industry has lost a great friend and highly respected leader in the death of Cal Wilkerson of US Cremation Equipment. Cal died October 3rd at the age of 78 after a brief illness. Beginning with a financial career with Dun & Bradstreet, Cal moved into the cremation industry in the early 80's and rapidly became accepted as a global leader. From 1981 until his move to Orlando in 1997, he made the world his office, travelling frequently throughout the Pacific rim, South America, Europe and across the United States, to market and install cremators for All Crematory Corporation. He was welcomed on every continent, not just for his expertise, but for his thoughtful and sincere approach to business. He brought an uncommon energy and dedication which quickly distinguished him among fellow business associates. Throughout the 80's and early 90's Cal seemed to be on a global mission to respond personally to the rapidly expanding demand for cremation. He was responsible for introducing many cost-saving innovations and made every effort to train and help his clients as they met this new challenge. Cal was genuinely interested and concerned that his products and service were of the highest quality. This dedication to detail along with the integrity he brought to every negotiation soon resulted in a reputation that is simply peerless. Luis Lorens, President of US Cremation Equipment and Cal's business partner remembers, "Cal always displayed a sense of affection and loyalty to all the members of our company. His candor and unique sense of humor will be greatly missed." Cal was married for 51 years to wife, Mavis and together they had daughter Amy who blessed them with two granddaughters, Sarah and Marilyn. A true gentlemen, Cal Wilkerson was a rare individual whose personality and expertise combined to make him an unforgettable asset to our industry.
