BETTYE O'NEAL HUTCHINGS

BETTYE O'NEAL HUTCHINGS of Macon, GA died June 17, 2021 at the age of 90. A licensed funeral director since 1967, she was employed part-time at Hutchings Funeral Home during the early 1960's and was a full-time employee from 1966 until 1987 as manager and secretary/treasurer. Hutchings was the owner of the funeral home at the time of her passing. A member of the Georgia Funeral Service Practitioners Association, National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association and the 100 Black Women of Funeral Service, was featured in the book, Standing on the Shoulders by Dr. Catherine Meeks in 2005. Hutchings was a 2012 Living Legend of Funeral Service and was inducted into the 2012 100BWFS Hall of Fame.
