BERNARD JULIUS ARCHER

BERNARD JULIUS ARCHER of Annapolis, MD, formerly of Philadelphia, PA died May 11, 2015 at the age of 95. He was the supervising mortician at the John C. McKain Funeral Home in North Philadelphia for 33 years before acquiring his own business, the Bernard J. Archer Funeral Home, which he operated as a licensed funeral director until he was 95. At age 94, he was recognized as the oldest practicing mortician in Pennsylvania. A graduate of Eckels College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, and the Quaker City Funeral Directors Association.
