BARRY ROGER WICKLINE of Englewood, OH died May 7, 2025 at the age of 81. He began his journey in the funeral industry at the age of 14, when he started mowing the lawns for Swart Funeral Home in West Carrollton. In 1971, Barry worked for Baker-Hazel Funeral Home as an assistant funeral home apprentice. After earning his embalming license in 1974 and his funeral directors’ licenses in 1975, he continued his employment with Baker-Hazel until 1976. From 1976-1978, Barry was employed with Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Delphos, OH; Moore Funeral Home in Tulsa, OK from 1978-1980; and in 1980, he returned to Baker-Hazel. In 1982, Baker-Hazel Funeral Home purchased the Miller-Ream Funeral Home in West Milton, OH and changed the name to Baker-Hazel Wickline. In 1987, Barry purchased it and continued to own and operate the Wickline Funeral Home until 1996, when he made the decision to close his business. He moved to Englewood, OH where he continued to work as a funeral director and embalmer at various funeral homes. A graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and was awarded the Certified Pre-Planning Consultant in 2005 by the National Funeral Directors Association. Barry was also awarded the Certified Funeral Service Practitioner from the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, Inc in 2003.
