BARBARA JEAN BAILEY LEVETT

BARBARA JEAN BAILEY LEVETT of Conyers, GA died November 3, 2012 at the age of 79. In 1964, she and her husband, George William Levett, Sr., established Levett and Young Funeral Home, now known as Levett Funeral Home. Together, they operated the firm until he died in 2004. Since then, her son, George W. Levett, Jr., managed the firm and she remained a key advisor until her health would no longer allow it. The firm is believed to be the oldest black-owned business in Rockdale County.
