ARTHUR THOMAS “UNK” QUEEN

ARTHUR THOMAS “UNK” QUEEN of Sykesville, MD, formerly of Randallstown, MD died April 11, 2024 at the age of 83. He had been in the funeral business for over 60 years, having worked at Davis Weaver Funeral Home in West Virginia as a teenager. Queen came to Maryland at the age of twenty to work at Tickner Funeral Home in Baltimore, followed by Ruck Funeral Home. He began working at Loring Byers Funeral Home in Randallstown, MD in 1968 where he later became the owner and operator. He then purchased what is now Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A. in 1992. A graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, Queen was a former member of the Selected Independent Funeral Homes, Maryland State Funeral Directors Association; Tri-County Funeral Directors Association and the Cremation Association of North America.
